June 15th at 11:00 AM (CT)

The Federal Reserve system was created in 1913 with the task of overseeing our nation’s monetary policy, promoting financial stability, and regulating banks. And for more than 100 years, “the Fed” has been one of the most influential institutions as it relates to U.S. economic growth and capital markets.

To start 2022, uncertainty around Fed policy has been one key factor applying downward pressure to stock and bond markets. Specifically, the prospect of rising interest rates and an end to the era of quantitative easing. With all of this in mind, we will be discussing the Fed and Fed policy at our upcoming client luncheon, and we hope you can attend.

  • The history of the Fed and its role within the U.S. economy
  • What is driving inflation, and what tools the Fed has to reduce inflationary pressures
  • The impact of rising interest rates on capital markets and economic growth
  • The Fed’s “$9 trillion balance sheet” — what it is and why we are following the “unwinding” of this balance sheet so closely
