Some economists say fears of a recession are overblown; after all, how could an economy in recession produce 528,000 jobs in a month, as the U.S. did in July?1 Meanwhile, other economists say that while we may not be in a recession quite yet, it seems like it’s just a matter of time. Still others argue that not only is a recession possible, but by some metrics the U.S. has already entered one.
Who’s right? And more importantly, what does a recession mean in practical terms? We will be discussing the recession debate at our upcoming client luncheon, and we hope you can attend.
